Emergency bonnet release button

Use the emergency bonnet open button only in an emergency. Be especially careful about operating the button because it is very dangerous if the bonnet is opened whilst driving.

Operation

  • Open the button cover in the front trunk.

  • Press the emergency bonnet release button.

Operating condition(s)

  • 1st opening position: When the vehicle is above 5 km/h (3 mph), the bonnet opens slightly to secure vision and airway.

  • 2nd opening position: When the vehicle is below 5 km/h (3 mph), the bonnet opens completely and emergency escape is possible.

TIP

Available front trunk weight

  • 2WD: 40 kg (100 lbs.)

  • 4WD: 20 kg (50 lbs.)

Available front trunk weight depends on the specifications.

NOTE

  • When the bonnet is opened through a smart key or digital key application, the interior light inside the front trunk may turn on, based on the status of the door interlocking function for interior lighting.

    • DOOR OFF button activated: Interior light not turned on

    • DOOR OFF button inactive: Linking to the interior lighting
