Power battery recycling

Power batteries should be recycled in the following order :

  1. Send the vehicle to a KIA recycling service outlet, and KIA will check battery capacity and status.

  2. For power storage that should be recycled according to relevant laws and regulations pool, KIA conducts residual value assessment.

  3. Power battery recycling: KIA Automobile or authorised by KIA Automobile authorised third-party recycling agencies for recycling and subsequent processing.

    Transportation of power batteries: Because power batteries require professional transportation for transportation, please contact KIA after-sales service centre or customer service centre processing.

  • Do not dispose or throw away used power batteries at will to avoid damaging the serious pollution to the environment.

  • If you hand over the used power battery to an unqualified power storage units or individuals with pool recycling qualifications, or dismantling without permission power battery, resulting in environmental pollution or safety incidents therefore, KIA Auto does not bear corresponding legal liability.

Power battery leakage treatment

When the power battery electrolyte leaks, it will release irritating gases. smell of poisonous gas. Professionals are required to wear full breathing masks when handling, use protective equipment and control external fire sources to avoid ignition of the electrolyte.

If possible, adsorbent materials should be used to collect the electrolyte. Prevent it from polluting the environment.

When liquids other than the electrolyte leak (such as pink cold cooling fluid), which can be disposed of by rinsing with clean water.
