i-Pedal

i-Pedal is controlled by acceleration pedal. It provides vehicle speed control without manually controlling the paddle shifter.

Operation

  1. Pull the left side ( ) of the paddle shifter to level 3 regenerative braking system.

  2. Pull the left side of the paddle shifter once again when the regenerative braking level reaches level 3.

    • Check i-Pedal indicator symbol i-Pedal on the instrument cluster.

  3. After the vehicle is stopped by the i-Pedal Driving function, the i-Pedal indicator on the instrument cluster changes in to "STOP" indicator.

Operating condition(s)

  • The driver’s door is closed

  • EPB is automatically activated when:

    • The driver’s door is opened and seat belt is fastened

    • The bonnet is opened.

    • The tailgate is opened.

    • Vehicle stops for more than approximately 5 minutes

    • At the request of other systems.

Non-operating condition(s)

  • Cruise Control of Smart Cruise Control is operating

  • When the charging status of the high voltage battery is too high

  • The vehicle is in SNOW mode

  • The trailer is installed

  • When the DBC (Driving Downhill) function is operating

  • When the vehicle is in R (Reverse)

WARNING
  • Do not solely rely on one pedal driving to stop the vehicle. Stopping the vehicle may not be possible depend on vehicle and road conditions. Pay attention to the road condition ahead and apply the brake if necessary.

  • Avoid increasing the regenerative braking level suddenly on slippery roads (like snow or icy conditions) because it may lead slipping of the tyres and skidding of vehicle. It can be dangerous due to the loss of the vehicle's steering force.

CAUTION

When the vehicle is stopped or parked by i-Pedal on the steep hills, be sure to depress the brake pedal.

NOTE
  • When you change the shift lever to the “R” (reverse) position, the i-Pedal changes to 3 level of the regenerative braking system.

  • When the vehicle is turned off and restarted, the i-Pedal will be deactivated.

  • When the deceleration rate, the vehicle's level of deceleration, reaches a certain level whilst the i-Pedal function is on, brake lights may turn on without depressing the brake pedal.
