How to reset the power tailgate
If the battery has been discharged or disconnected, or if the related fuse has been replaced or disconnected, for the power tailgate to operate normally, reset the power tailgate as follow:

Make sure the gear is shifted to P (Park) position.

Press the power tailgate open button to open the power tailgate.

While pressing the tailgate close button, press the tailgate handle switch for more than 3 seconds. (the buzzer will sound)

Close the tailgate manually.

Press the power tailgate open button on the outside of the vehicle.

The tailgate will open and the chime will sound.

If the tailgate is stopped before it is fully open, resetting will not proceed. Wait until the tailgate is open fully and
stopped.
If the power tailgate does not work properly after the above procedure, have the system checked by a professional workshop. Kia recommends to visit an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
NOTICE
If the power tailgate does not operate normally, check again if the gear is in the correct position.
