Operation of Reverse Parking Distance Warning
Parking Safety button (if equipped)
Press the Parking Safety (
) button to turn on or off Reverse Parking Distance Warning.

When Reverse Parking Distance Warning is off (button indicator light off), if you shift the gear to R (Reverse), Reverse Parking Distance Warning will automatically turn on.

If you shift the gear to R (Reverse), Reverse Parking Distance Warning will not turn off even if you press the Parking Safety (
) button for your safety.
Operating condition

This function will activate when backing up with the vehicle is ON position.
If the vehicle is moving at a speed over 5 km/h (3 mph), the function may not be activated correctly.

The sensing distance while Reverse Parking Distance Warning is in operation is approximately 120 cm (48 inches).

When more than two objects are sensed at the same time, the closest one will be recognized first.

Types of warning sound
Indicator*
When an object is 60~120 cm (24~48 inches) from the rear bumper:
Buzzer beeps intermittently.
When an object is 30~60 cm (12~24 inches) from the rear bumper:
Buzzer beeps more frequently
When an object is within 30 cm (12 inches) of the rear bumper:
Buzzer sounds continuously
The indicator may differ from the illustration as objects or sensors status.
If the indicator blinks, have the function checked by a professional workshop. Kia recommends to visit an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
