High Beam Assist operation

Turning on High Beam Assist

To turn on HBA (High Beam Assist), select HBA (High Beam Assist) from the settings menu and follow these steps:

  1. Turn the light switch to the AUTO position.

  2. Push the light switch toward the instrument cluster. HBA (High Beam Assist) will turn on, and the High Beam Assist indicator ( ) will appear on the instrument cluster.

NOTE

HBA (High Beam Assist) turns off when the vehicle is restarted. To use the function again, it must be turned on again.

High Beam Control

High Beam Control Operation

When HBA (High Beam Assist) is on and the vehicle is driven within the operation speed range, High Beam Control operates. The green High Beam Assist indicator ( ) will appear on the instrument cluster.

  • High beam control operating speed: 30 km/h – 200 km/h (20 mph – 120 mph)

If the high beam is turned on by High Beam Assist and any of the following conditions occur, the system may automatically switch to low beam.

  • Oncoming vehicle headlights are detected

  • Tail lights of a vehicle ahead are detected

  • Headlights or tail lights of a bicycle or powered two-wheeler are detected

  • The surrounding area is bright enough

  • Streetlights or other light sources are detected

High Beam Control Standby

When HBA (High Beam Assist) is on but the vehicle is driven outside of the operation speed range, the system enters standby mode. The high beam does not turn on, and the white indicator ( ) will appear on the cluster.

  • High beam control standby operating speed: below 20 km/h, above 210 km/h (below 12 mph, above 130 mph)

NOTE
  • If the vehicle speed is lower than the operation speed range but higher than the standby speed range, High Beam Control remains active.

  • If the vehicle speed is higher than the operation speed range but lower than the standby speed range, High Beam Control remains active.

  • The images and colours in the instrument cluster may differ depending on the cluster type or theme selected from the settings menu.

Turning off High Beam Assist

To turn off High Beam Assist, do one of the following:

  • Turn the light switch from AUTO to another position (Low beam/Taillamp/OFF).

    Push the light switch toward the instrument cluster to activate the high beam manually. High Beam Assist will turns off.

    If the high beam is on due to High Beam Assist, pull the light switch toward to driver to switch to low beam. High Beam Assist will turns off.
