i-Pedal (for GT)

i-Pedal is controlled by acceleration pedal. It provides vehicle speed control without manually controlling the paddle shifter.

Operation

  1. Pull and hold the left side ( ) of the paddle shift lever for approximately 1 second at any regenerative braking level to activate the i-Pedal. The i-PEDAL indicator symbol will appear on the cluster.

  2. If the i-Pedal is active, pull and hold the left side ( ) of the paddle shift lever for approximately 1 second to deactivate it. The i-PEDAL indicator symbol will disappear from the cluster.

    • Check i-Pedal indicator symbol i-Pedal on the instrument cluster.

Setting i-Pedal

OSV054342L
  1. Electric Vehicle

  2. i-PEDAL

  • Select Electric Vehicle > Settings > i-Pedal from the infotainment system to choose whether to use i-Pedal when reversing.

  • If you select Disable i-Pedal when Reversing, shifting to R (Reverse) while using i-Pedal will turn off the i-Pedal, then shifting to D (Drive) and automatically turning on the i-Pedal when driving above 20 km/h (12 mph).

  • If Disable i-Pedal when Reversing is unchecked, the i-Pedal is automatically turned on by shifting to D (Drive) or R (Reverse).

Operating condition(s)

  • Driver’s door must be closed.

Non-operating condition(s)

  • On steep uphill or downhill roads

  • At the end of a slope

  • When repeatedly starting and stopping on a slope

  • When DBC is active

WARNING
  • Do not solely rely on one pedal driving to stop the vehicle. Stopping the vehicle may not be possible depending vehicle and road conditions. Pay attention to the road condition ahead and apply the brake if necessary.

  • Avoid increasing the regenerative braking level suddenly on slippery roads (like snow or icy conditions) because it may lead slipping of the tires and skidding of vehicle. It can be dangerous due to the loss of the vehicle's steering force.

CAUTION

When the vehicle is stopped or parked by i-Pedal on the steep hills, be sure to depress the brake pedal.

NOTE
  • When the deceleration rate, the vehicle’s level of deceleration, reaches a certain level while the i-Pedal is on, brake lights may turn on without depressing the brake pedal.

  • i-Pedal symbol will turn gray when the i-Pedal is not active.

  • i-Pedal symbol will turn green when the i-Pedal is ready.

  • When the vehicle is turned off and on, the regenerative braking system level will retain its level. If the level is 0, it will adjust to 1 accordingly.
