Overtaking Prevention: (if equipped)
When Overtaking Prevention is set and Smart Cruise Control is operating, if a vehicle is detected ahead in an adjacent passing lane, the system maintains a set following distance and speed relative to that vehicle.
If the driver presses the accelerator pedal and passes the vehicle, the function is temporarily canceled and will operate again in similar situations.
To disable the function, turn off Overtaking Prevention in the Driver Assistance settings.
-
Even if a vehicle is traveling ahead in the current lane, the vehicle can be driven in accordance with the speed and following distance of a vehicle in an adjacent passing lane.
-
While Overtaking Prevention is operating, the Accelerating function does not operate.
-
Overtaking Prevention operates at speeds of 60 km/h (40 mph) or higher. The function does not operate in cases of sudden deceleration or when the vehicle is too close to a vehicle in an adjacent lane.
-
When traveling between countries with different traffic directions, Overtaking Prevention may operate differently from the local driving direction. If necessary, turn off the function before use.
-
Always comply with the traffic laws and regulations of the country/region you are driving in and drive with caution.
