Closing the trunk
To close the trunk, lower and push the trunk down firmly. Make sure that the trunk is securely latched.

Make sure your hands, feet, and other parts of your body are safely out of the way before closing the trunk.

Exhaust fumes
You should always keep the trunk lid completely closed while the vehicle is in motion. If you leave the trunk open or ajar, poisonous exhaust gases may enter the car and serious illness or death may result.
NOTE
To avoid damage to the trunk’s latch, make sure nothing is near the latch and striker while closing the trunk.
