Precautions
Make sure that all the windows are closed. If window is open, the warning may operate by the sensor detecting an unintended movement (e.g. clothes or bugs).
The system is intended to detect the presence of a child sitting in the rear seat, but the warning may operate under the following conditions:
-
When the system may misidentify pets or other animals as a child.
-
When the sytem detects motion in the driver's or front passenger seat(ex. seat recline or relaxation mode).
-
When the vehicle is impacted, pushed, or shaken after it has been locked (e.g., during a car wash or due to external noise or vibration).
-
When metal or liquid objects are present inside the vehicle.
-
When stacked boxes or other objects fall over inside the vehicle.
Even if your vehicle is equipped with the system, always make sure to check the rear seats before you leave the vehicle. The system may not operate under the following conditions:
-
When the movement does not last long or is very small.
-
When a child is not properly seated in a child restraint system.
-
When obstructed by the vehicle seat or child restraint system.
-
When the passenger is a child over 6 years old or an adult.
-
When the passenger is covered with a fabric containing metallic substance such as a blanket.
-
When an object in the vehicle blocks the sensor.
-
When the sensor is contaminated by foreign material.
-
When an animal at the rear seat is not large enough to be detected by the sensor or there is hardly any movement.
-
When objects are attached to the interior ceiling, or the ceiling is modified, deformed, or damaged.
-
When there are electronic interference around the vehicle.
-
When there are other environmental factors that may affect the system.
-
To cancel or stop the warning:
-
Turn off the system from the settings menu in the infotainment system.
-
Locking, unlocking, or opening a door will stop or cancel the warning.
The system will resume detection when all doors are closed and locked (including via automatic door lock).
-
-
The Initial Warning and Escalation Warning are available only when the sensor is installed in the vehicle.
-
If a warning turns off or is canceled and the same condition occurs again, the system provides only an audible alert without showing a warning message on the instrument cluster.
-
If the vehicle is started remotely, the warning will stop.
-
If you do not receive mobile notifications, check the connected services.
-
If you activate other modes, such as convenience mode, it will disable the system.
