Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS)

The VESS generates an engine sound for pedestrians to hear the vehicle because there is no sound while the Electric Vehicle (EV) is operating.

The VESS operates if the vehicle is in READY mode and the gear is not in P (Park).

WARNING

The sound system only plays a supplementary role. It is not designed to replace the caution of the driver. Always pay attention to your surroundings while driving.

CAUTION

  • The vehicle does not generate an engine sound. Be aware of your surroundings and drive safely.

  • After you park the vehicle or while you are waiting at a traffic light, check for children or obstacles around the vehicle.

  • When driving in reverse, check to see if there is anything behind the vehicle. Pedestrians might not hear the sound of the vehicle.
