Energy flow

The hybrid system informs you about energy flow in various operating modes. While driving, the current energy flow is specified in 11 modes.

Vehicle stop

OMQ4PHQ013024L

The vehicle is stopped.

(No energy flow)

EV propulsion

OMQ4PHQ013025L

Only motor power is used to drive the vehicle.

(Battery > Wheel)

Power assist

OMQ4PHQ013026L

Both the motor and the engine power are used to drive the vehicle.

(Battery & Engine > Wheel)

Engine only propulsion

OMQ4PHQ013027L

Only the engine power is used to drive the vehicle.

(Engine > Wheel)

Engine generation

OMQ4PHQ013028L

When the vehicle is stopped, the high-voltage battery is charged by the engine.

(Engine > Battery)

Regeneration

OMQ4PHQ013034L

The high-voltage battery is charged by the regenerative brake system.

(Wheel > Battery)

Engine brake

OMQ4PHQ013029L

Engine braking is used to decelerate the vehicle.

(Wheel > Engine)

Power reserve

OMQ4PHQ013030L

The engine is simultaneously used to drive the vehicle and to charge the high-voltage battery.

(Engine > Wheel & Battery)

Engine generation/motor drive

OMQ4PHQ013032L

The engine charges the high-voltage battery. Motor power is used to drive the vehicle.

(Engine > Battery > Wheel)

Engine generation/regeneration

OMQ4PHQ013032L

The engine and regenerative brake system charges the high-voltage battery.

(Engine & Wheel > Battery)

Engine brake/regeneration

OMQ4PHQ013032L

The engine braking is simultaneously used to decelerate the vehicle and to charge the high-voltage battery.

(Wheel > Engine & Battery)

Start engine to avoid battery discharge

OMQ4PHQ013043L

If the engine is not turned on with the ENGINE START/STOP button in ACC or ON for a while, the battery can be discharged. Turn on the engine to prevent 12V battery from discharge.
