How to use the adapter

Before use, check the adapter for any damage.
How to connect adapter

Press the latch button(1) on the CCS1 charging connector and insert it into the adapter(2).

Insert the CCS1 adapter into the NACS vehicle, then check the connection status between the charger and the vehicle at the charging station.

Start charging.
How to disconnect adapter
After charging is complete:

Stop charging using the vehicle's infotainment screen, mobile app, or the charging station display.

Unlock the vehicle's charging inlet.

Disconnect the adapter from the vehicle.

Do not disconnect the charging connector from the adapter while it remains connected to the vehicle.

Press the latch button (1) on the charging connector and pull the connector straight out to disconnect it (2).

Place the charging connector back in its designated holder at the station.

Store the CCS1 adapter in the vehicle.
How to store and maintain adapter

To prevent loss or damage, store the adapter in its dedicated storage case or pouch.

Before and after use, wipe the exterior of the adapter with a soft cloth before storing it.

Store the adapter in a dry and cool place.

When storing the adapter in the vehicle, secure it properly to prevent impact during driving.

Dust or contaminants on the adapter may affect charging performance.

Storing in a humid environment may lead to corrosion or damage.
Adapter overheat protection function
In the event of an internal overheat, the adapter will either reduce or cut off the current.

When the internal temperature of the adapter reaches the first overheat threshold, the charging current will be reduced.

If the temperature continues to rise after the first overheat, the current will be completely cut off.


Please use only Kia Genuine DC adapters for Kia vehicle.
This adapter has been developed specifically for Kia vehicles.
Do not use aftermarket CCS1 adapters or another manufacturers CCS1 adapters.
Using non Kia approved adapters may cause overheating, slower charging speed, or damage to either the vehicle or adapter due to voltage and current mismatches.
