When flatbed is unavailable

2-wheel drive vehicle can be towed with the opposite tires on the ground (without dollies) and parking brake released before turning off the vehicle.

If you must tow the vehicle using only two wheels, lift the driven wheels off the ground and tow the vehicle.

CAUTION
  • If any of the loaded wheels or suspension components are damaged or the vehicle is being towed with the driven wheels on the ground, use a towing dolly under the driven wheels.

  • Do not tow with sling-type equipment. Use wheel lift or flatbed equipment

  • Do not tow the vehicle backwards with the driven wheels on the ground as this may cause damage to the vehicle.

NOTICE

When the vehicle is being towed with a tow truck or it needs to be moved, move the vehicle very short distance (within 32 ft (10 m)) with a speed of 3 mph (5 km/h). The vehicle should be in N (Neutral) and the parking brake should be disengaged. If the parking brake and gear change operations are unavailable, move the vehicle with the driven wheels off the ground.
