Removing and storing the spare tire

To remove the spare tire, insert wheel lug nut wrench into the wing bolt and remove it by turning it counter- clock wise.
To secure the spare tire, insert wheel lug nut wrench into the wing bolt and turn it clockwise.
To prevent the spare tire and tools from “rattling” while the vehicle is in motion, store them properly.

If it is hard to loosen the tire hold-down wing bolt by hand, you can loosen it easily using the wheel lug nut wrench.

Put the wheel lug nut wrench inside of the tire hold-down wing bolt.

Turn the tire hold-down wing bolt counterclockwise with the wheel lug nut wrench.

Ensure the spare tire retainer is properly aligned with the center of the spare tire to prevent the spare tire from “rattling”.
Otherwise, it may cause the spare tire to fall off the carrier and lead to an accident.

When a spare tire is installed, always keep the driving speed limited under 120 km/h and under inflation pressure 230 kPa (33 psi).
Spare tire is mostly used in emergencies such as a flat tire or serious underinflation, and the vehicle needs to reach a safe location for service. After spare tire has been installed, we recommend that you contact an authorized Kia dealer/service partner as soon as possible. Do not drive long distance with a spare tire.
