Daytime Running Light (DRL)

The daytime running lights (DRL) help other drivers see the front of your vehicle during the day, especially after dawn and before sunset.

The daytime running lights (DRL) operate when you drive during daylight hours.

The DRL system turns on when the headlamp stalk is in the OFF or AUTO position (when daylight is detected) and the electronic parking brake (EPB) is released.

The daytime running lights turn off in the following conditions:

  • When the headlamps are on

  • When the vehicle is turned off

  • When the tail lamps are on

    • The tail lamps turn on automatically at night when the light switch is in the AUTO position.

  • When the parking brake is applied
