If the battery has been discharged or disconnected, or if the related fuse has been replaced or disconnected, for the power liftgate to operate normally, reset the power liftgate as follow:

1. Make sure the gear is shifted to P (Park) position.

2. Press and hold the Power liftgate open/close button located inside the liftgate.

   And then press the power liftgate outer handle switch for more than 3 seconds with pressing the power liftgate open/close button. The chime will cound.

3. Close the liftgate manually.

4. Press the power liftgate open button on the outside of the vehicle.

5. The liftgate will open and the chime will sound.

6. If the liftgate is stopped before it is fully open, resetting will not proceed. Wait until the liftgate is open fully and stopped.

If the power liftgate does not work properly after the above procedure, have the system checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
