Rear Cross-Traffic Safety will warning the driver when a collision is imminent.

Collision Warning

To warning the driver of an approaching vehicle from the rear left/right side of your vehicle, the outside rearview mirror will blink and a warning will appear on the cluster. At the same time, an audible warning will sound. If the Rear View Monitor system is operating, a warning will also appear on the infotainment screen.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning will operate when the following conditions are satisfied:

  • Your vehicle gear is shifted to R (Reverse)

  • Your vehicle speed is below 8 km/h (5 mph)

  • The approaching vehicle is within approximately 25 m (82 feet) from the left and right side of your vehicle

  • The speed of the vehicle approaching from the left and right is above 5 km/h (3 mph)

WARNING

  • When setting Rear Cross-Traffic Safety, be sure to stop and operate in a safe place for safety.

  • The Rear Cross-Traffic Safety warning message may not be displayed or the warning alarm may not sound whilst other function warning message is displaying or alarm is sounding.

  • The Rear Cross-Traffic Safety warning sound may not be audible due to the noise inside or outside the vehicle.

  • If changing the gear quickly whilst the vehicle moving forward, Rear Cross-Traffic Safety may not work or may operate unnecessarily.

  • Rear Cross-Traffic Safety may delay warning or not warn depending on the traffic and driving conditions, so always check your surroundings for danger.

  • It is the driver's responsibility to operate the vehicle. Do not drive dangerously depending on the system, check your surroundings and drive safely.

  • Never test against people or objects. Serious injury or death could result.

NOTICE

If the operating conditions are satisfied, there will be a warning whenever the vehicle approaches from the left or right side even though your vehicle speed is 0 km/h (0 mph).

WARNING

  • Take the following precautions when using Rear Cross-Traffic Safety:

  • For your safety, change the Settings after parking the vehicle at a safe location.

  • If any other system's warning message is displayed or audible warning is generated, Rear Cross-Traffic Safety warning message may not be displayed and audible warning may not be generated.

  • You may not hear the warning sound of Rear Cross-Traffic Safety if the surrounding is noisy.

  • Rear Cross-Traffic Safety may warn the driver late or may not warn the driver depending on the road and driving conditions.

  • The driver should hold the responsibility to control the vehicle. Do not solely depend on Rear Cross-Traffic Safety. Rather, maintain a safe braking distance, and if necessary, depress the brake pedal to reduce driving speed or to stop the vehicle.
