How to disconnect DC charger

  1. Remove the charging connector when you are finished using the DC charger or when charging is complete. Refer to the respective DC charger company’s manual for details about how to disconnect the charging connector.
  2. Completely close the charging door.
    CAUTION

You might hear intermittent high frequency noise from outside the vehicle when charging at old DC charging stations or DC charging stations with communication delay. This noise occurs when the vehicle reduces electromagnetic waves on its own to maintain charging. This is normal and does not affect charging or the performance of the vehicle.

    NOTE
    • Do not charge the vehicle when it is already fully charged. If you do so, some DC chargers will display an error message.

    • If you cannot open the charging door due to freezing weather, lightly tap or remove any ice near the charging door. Do not try to open the charging door by force. Doing so might damage it.

    • The vehicle uses the air conditioner to control the temperature of the high voltage battery. The air conditioner compressor and cooling fan operation might generate noise. The use of the cooling system for the high voltage battery might degrade the air conditioner’s performance during summer.

    • Even though you can charge with the EV button in the START position, for your safety, start charging when the EV button is in the OFF position and the gear is shifted to P (Park). After you begin charging, you can use electrical components such as the radio by pressing the EV button in the POWER ON position.

Whilst charging, you cannot shift the gear from P (Park) to any other gear.

    • Depending on the condition and durability of the high voltage battery, charger specifications, and ambient temperature, the time required for charging the battery might vary.

    • Use a charging cable that is shorter than 30 m when using a DC charger. Cables longer than 30 m may not ensure electromagnetic compatibility and should not be used.
