EPB malfunction

EPB warning light (
) illuminates if the vehicle is in ON position and goes off in approximately 3 seconds if the system is operating normally.
If the EPB warning light (
) remains on, comes on while driving, or does not come on when the vehicle is in ON position, this indicates that the EPB may have malfunctioned.
If this occurs, we recommend having the system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
EPB warning light (
) may illuminate when the Electronic Stability Control indicator comes on to indicate that Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is not working properly, but it does not indicate a malfunction of EPB.
-
If the brake warning light (
) does not illuminate or blinks after the EPB switch has been pulled, the EPB may not be applied. -
If EPB warning light (
) is still on or the brake warning light (
) blinks when the EPB warning light (
) is on, press the EPB switch, and then pull it up. Repeat this one more time. If the EPB warning light (
) does not go off, we recommend having the system inspected by an authorised Kia dealer/service partner
