Basic functions

Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) is possible to give the shifting feel of a automatic transmission of an internal combustion engine.
-
Shift pattern: Differentiate pattern by mode, lower decreasing rate of braking, adjust shift, etc.
-
Shift feeling: Differentiate up/down shift by mode, down shift REV matching, etc.
-
Auto/Manual mode: When adjusting the left and right side of the paddle shift lever, change it from automatic shift mode to manual shift mode (to cancel manual mode, hold the left side of the paddle shift for approximately 2 seconds, then it will change to automatic mode)
-
Sound effect: Virtual sounds that are matched to the simulating engine RPM/motor torque by gear
-
Interface realization: Auto/Manual mode (paddle shift), cluster (motor RPM, gear position)
Operating condition(s)
-
Vehicle is in READY mode.

-
This function is available in all driving modes except ECO and SNOW modes.
-
VGS may not be available when there is a malfunction with your electric vehicle system such as Smart Cruise Control, Launch Control, Remote Smart Parking Assist or low high voltage battery level.
-
When entering ECO mode or Smart Cruise Control while Virtual Gear Shift is in operation, Virtual Gear Shift is temporarily deactivated. After disabling ECO mode and Smart Cruise Control, Virtual Gear Shift can be reactivated.
-
VGS may not operate properly due to temporary communication failures.
-
The sense of simulating gear shift can be affected by the condition of the vehicle (fully charged or discharged). Driver safety features (e.g. TCS/ESC) may also interrupt its operation.
-
The paddle shifter can be used as a manual gear in VGS. The left side of the paddle shifter (
) is used to shift down, while the right paddle shifter (
) is used to shift up.
