i-Pedal (if equipped)

i-Pedal is controlled by acceleration pedal. It provides vehicle speed control without manually controlling the paddle shifter.

  • Pull the left side () of the paddle shifter to set the regenerative braking level to 3.

  • Pull the left side of the paddle shifter once again when the regenerative braking level reaches level 3.

    i-Pedal indicator will appear on the instrument cluster.

Operating condition(s)

  • The driver’s door is closed.

Non-operating condition(s)

  • Smart Cruise Control is operating.

  • When the charging status of the high voltage battery is too high

  • The vehicle is in Terrain Mode (if equipped)

  • A trailer is attached

  • When Downhill Brake Control (DBC) is operating

Automatic engagement of EPB

After the vehicle is stopped by i-Pedal function, EPB is automatically engaged when any of these conditions occur:

  • The driver’s door is opened, and seat belt is not fastened

  • The hood is open.

  • The liftgate is open.

  • Approximately 5 minutes have passed after the vehicle has stopped.

  • The system operation is limited due to other reasons.

  • Shifting to P (Park) or N (Neutral)

  • At the request of other systems.

CAUTION

When the vehicle is stopped or parked by i-Pedal on a steep hills, be sure to depress the brake pedal.

NOTICE
  • When the deceleration rate reaches a certain level while i-Pedal is active, the brake lights may turn on even if the brake pedal is not depressed.

  • When i-Pedal is available, the regenerative braking level is changed to level 3 after restarting the vehicle.
