Digital Side Mirror (DSM): (if equipped)
The digital side mirror is an outdoor mirror replacement device that helps you change lanes safely by checking the video of the vehicle following you on a monitor inside the vehicle when changing lanes.
Do not adjust or fold the DSM camera while driving. It may affect driving and cause an accident.
-
Since the digital side mirror expresses the rear view as an image, it may look different from the actual view and you cannot see the view outside the set position. Be extra careful when driving.
-
The screen of the DSM monitor may be dimmed by strong light sources such as direct sunlight, and the monitor screen may be temporarily covered by light smearing or the headlights of a vehicle behind. Use interior mirrors, etc. to secure a view around the vehicle.
-
Under certain circumstances, picture errors such as out-of-focus or out-of-real colors on the DSM monitor may occur. This makes it difficult to see moving objects clearly, and looking at the monitor for a long time can tire your eyes.
-
Always pay attention to the condition of the vehicle while driving. If it is determined that there is something wrong, immediately stop the car and we recommend that you have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
-
If the DSM monitor does not display clearly, the lens may be dirty or fogged. Moisture on the camera lens is a natural phenomenon caused by a difference in external temperature. If you cannot see the rear clearly due to moisture, wipe the camera lens or operate the heating cable to remove moisture or foreign substances before driving safely. Wipe carefully so as not to damage the lens surface, and be careful not to get burned by the heating element.
-
DSM monitor screen brightness is also linked to cluster brightness settings.
-
The DSM camera angle also works with the driving position memory system.
