In case of an emergency

If the electrical power door lock switch is not operating (for example, if the car battery is dead), the only way to lock the door(s) is with the small flat blade tool (like a screwdriver or similar) from the outside lock hole.

Doors without an outside lock hole can be locked as follows:

  1. Open the door.
  2. Insert a small flat blade tool (like a screwdriver or similar) into the emergency door lock hole and turn it horizontally to the lock position.

  3. Close the door securely.
    TIP

    If the electrical power to the door lock switch is not operating (for example, if the car battery is dead) and the tailgate is closed, you will not be able to open the tailgate until the power is restored.
