Operating windscreen washers

OSW035472L
  1. Move the wiper speed control switch to the OFF position.

  2. Pull the lever gently toward you to spray washer fluid on the windscreen and operate the wipers for 1-3 cycles. Use this function to clean a dirty windscreen. The spray and wiper operation will continue until you release the lever.

WARNING

Do not use the washer in freezing temperatures without first warming the windscreen with the defrosters; the washer solution could freeze on the windscreen and obscure your vision.

CAUTION
  • Do not operate the washer when the fluid reservoir is empty. This may damage the washer pump.

  • Do not operate the wipers on a dry windscreen. This may damage the wiper blades or windscreen.

  • Do not use petrol, kerosene, paint thinner, or other solvents on or near the wiper blades. These substances may damage the blades.

  • Do not attempt to move the wipers manually. This may damage the wiper arms and other components.

  • In winter or cold weather, use an anti-freezing washer fluid to help prevent damage to the wipers and washer system.

NOTE

If the washer does not operate, check the washer fluid level. If the fluid level is low, add an appropriate non-abrasive windscreen washer fluid to the washer reservoir.

The reservoir filler neck is located in the front of the motor room compartment.
