Hands-off warning

If the driver takes their hands off the steering wheel for several seconds, the warning message will appear and an audible warning will sound in stages.

  • First stage: Warning message

    1. Keep hands on steering wheel

  • Second stage: Warning message (red steering wheel) and audible warning

    CAUTION

    If you keep taking your hands off the steering wheel, then Emergency Stop (ES) will activate. For more details on the Emergency Stop, refer to Emergency Stop (ES)

    • After the vehicle stops due to Emergency Stop (ES) and the function is released, you must restart the vehicle to activate Highway Driving Assist again.

    • If the driver’s status cannot be detected, Highway Driving Assist operation will be limited.: (if equipped)

    1. HDA (Highway Driving Assist) sys. cancelled

If the driver still does not have their hands on the steering wheel after the hands-off warning, the warning message will appear and Highway Driving Assist will be automatically cancelled.
