Instrument cluster display for warning message

The instrument cluster displays each of the following warning messages when applicable:

  1. Shifting conditions not met. Reduce speed, then shift

  • You are driving too fast to shift the gear.

  • You shift the vehicle while the vehicle is in Utility Mode.

  1. Press brake pedal to change gear

You do not engage the brake pedal while shifting the gear.

  1. Shift to P after stopping

You shift to P (Park) while the vehicle is moving.

  1. Gear already selected

You press the selected gear button again.

  1. PARK malfunction. Engage parking brake when parking vehicle

There is a problem with the function shifting to P (Park).

There is problem with the P button.

  1. Check shifter dial

There is problem with the shift lever.

  1. Rotary shifter stuck

The shift lever is continuously stuck or has another problem.

If any warning message on the instrument cluster continues to blink, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
