Deactivating Emergency Stop

If the function judges you have responded, Emergency Stop is deactivated when one of the following conditions is met:

  • The driver controls the steering wheel.

  • The driver strongly and continuously depresses the accelerator pedal.

  • The driver strongly depresses the brake pedal.

  • The driver presses the Lane Driving Assist button (2026 Kia Tasman Lane Driving Assist icon. It displays a steering wheel symbol positioned between two diagonal lines representing road lanes. This icon identifies the button used to operate the Lane Driving Assist function.)

  • The driver presses the Driving Assist button (2026 Kia Tasman Driving Assist button icon. It displays a black car silhouette with a speedometer gauge symbol on the bottom right. Explains the function of the button used to deactivate the Emergency Stop system.)

  • The driver presses the hazard warning flasher button after the vehicle has stopped.

  • The front door is opened.

  • The driver cancels the SOS call.: (if equipped)

  • When shifting from P (Park) to another gear.

NOTE

The vehicle needs to be restarted to reactivate Lane Following Assist or Highway Driving Assist after the vehicle is stopped and Emergency Stop is deactivated.
