A: Emergency Braking |
Emergency braking will alert the driver with the Forward Safety warning light (
) blinking, warning message, an audible warning and steering wheel vibration.
The brake assist will be activated to help avoid a collision with a vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist and powered two-wheeler.
-
Vehicle or powered two-wheeler*:
Driving target
Stopped target
Weak braking power
Approximately 6–120 mph (10–180 km/h)
Strong braking power
Approximately 6-80 mph (10-130 km/h)
Approximately 6–53 mph (10–85 km/h)
*: If Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist determines that a collision cannot be avoided even by changing lanes due to the surrounding conditions of the vehicle, braking assistance is provided earlier. When the target object is stationary, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist may operate at speeds between about 6-62 mph (10-100 km/h) (if equipped)
-
Pedestrian or cyclist: 6-40 mph (10-65 km/h)
-
The function’s operational range may decrease due to the traffic ahead of or the surroundings of the vehicle.
-
When driving at night, the ability to detect motorcycles is decreased. Thus, the Forward Collision- Avoidance Assist system may temporarily be limited or not work.
