Opening the charging door

  1. Press the centre edge of the charging door.

    The charging door will not open if the vehicle doors are locked.

  2. Pull the charging door cover fully open towards the front of the vehicle.

NOTE

The charging door will unlock when driver's door is unlocked.

To unlock charging door :

  • Press the centre edge of the charging door.

  • The charging door will not open if the vehicle doors are locked.

  • Pull the charging door cover fully open towards the front of the vehicle.

To lock charging door:

  • Close the charging door and press it lightly to ensure it returns to its original position.

    Verify that it is securely closed.

WARNING

Do not leave the vehicle with the charging door open. An open charging door may indicate that the vehicle door has been unlocked and may be subject to vehicle theft.

NOTE

  • If the charging door does not open because ice has formed around it, tap lightly or push on the door to break the ice and release the door. Do not pry on the door. If necessary, spray around the door with an approved de-icer fluid (do not use radiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm place and allow the ice to melt.

  • If the charging door does not open under certain conditions, such as an electrical malfunction, contact a professional workshop. Kia recommends that you visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.
