Emergency Stop Signal (ESS)

Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) alerts the driver behind by flashing the brake lights when braking sharply and severely.

Operating condition(s)

  • The vehicle suddenly stops.

  • ABS is activated and the driving speed is over 55 km/h (34 mph).

  • The hazard warning flasher automatically turns on after blinking the brake lights when the driving speed is under 40 km/h (25 mph)

  • ABS is deactivated

  • The sudden braking is over

  • The hazard warning flasher turns off when the vehicle drives at a low speed for a certain period of time.

NOTE

ESS will not activate when the hazard warning flashers are already on.
