(A): Keep hands on steering wheel

If the driver takes their hands off the steering wheel for several seconds, the warning message will appear and an audible warning will sound in stages.

  • First stage: Warning message

  • Second stage: Warning message (red steering wheel) and audible warning

CAUTION

If Emergency Stop (ES) is equipped and you keep taking your hands off the steering wheel, the Emergency Stop will activate.

For more information, refer to the Emergency Stop (ES).

  • After the vehicle has stopped due to Emergency Stop and Emergency Stop has been released, the vehicle must be restarted to operate Highway Driving Assist again.

  • If an interior camera is equipped and the driver’s status cannot be detected, Highway Driving Assist operation will be restricted.

If the driver still does not have their hands on the steering wheel after the hands-off warning, the warning message will appear and Highway Driving Assist will be automatically cancelled.
