Warning and indicator lights (Related to electric vehicle)
The warning and indicator lights alert you to situations where you should be careful. They also indicate whether various functions are active.
Ready indicator READY
When the vehicle is ready to be driven.
-
ON: Normal driving is possible.
-
OFF: Normal driving is not possible, or a problem has occurred.
-
Blinking: You can drive in an emergency.
When the ready indicator goes off or blinks, there is a problem with the system. In this case, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Service warning light
-
When the EV button is in the POWER ON or DRIVE READY position.
-
It appears for approximately 3 seconds and then goes off.
-
-
When there is a problem with parts related to the electric vehicle control system, such as the sensors.
When the warning light appears while driving, or does not go off after starting the vehicle, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Power down indicator light
-
When the EV button is in the POWER ON or DRIVE READY position.
-
When the power is limited for the safety of the high-powered parts of an electric vehicle. The power is limited for the following reasons (Unless both Service Warning Light and Power Down Indicator Light appear at the same time, it is not a failure.):
-
The high voltage battery charge level is too low, or the voltage is decreasing.
-
The high voltage battery temperature is too high or too low.
-
The motor temperature is high.
-
Do not accelerate or start the vehicle suddenly when the Power Down Indicator Light is ON.
When the charge level is insufficient, charge the high voltage battery immediately.
When the power is limited for the safety of the high-powered components of the vehicle, the power down indicator light illuminates. Your kia may not be driven, or may roll back on a slope with the indicator light ON due to the limitation of the vehicle power.
Charging cable connection indicator light
This indicator appears when the charging cable is connected.
High voltage battery low level warning light
When the high voltage battery level is low.
When the warning light turns ON, charge the battery immediately.
Regenerative brake warning light
(Red color)
(Yellow color)
When the regenerative brake does not operate and the brake does not perform well. This causes the Brake Warning light (red) and Regenerative Brake Warning Light (yellow) to appear simultaneously.
In this case, drive safely and have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Engaging the brake pedal might be more difficult than normal. The braking distance might increase as braking defaults to manual hydraulic mode.
