When the high voltage battery charge level reaches about 20% (25% for standard type battery) or below, this warning message displays.
The warning light (
) on the instrument cluster illuminates simultaneously. Charge the battery immediately.

When the high voltage battery charge level reaches about 10% (15% for standard type battery) or below, this warning message displays.
The warning light (
) on the instrument cluster illuminates simultaneously.
To minimize the high voltage battery’s energy consumption, vehicle power decreases. Charge the battery immediately.
Check electric vehicle system

This warning message displays when there is a problem with the electric vehicle control system.
If this occurs, park the vehicle in a safe location and have your vehicle towed to the nearest authorized Kia dealer and have the vehicle inspected.
Do not drive the vehicle and when the warning message is displayed.
Power limited

In the following cases, this warning message is displayed when the vehicle’s power is limited for safety.
-
The high voltage battery charge level is too low, or the voltage is decreasing.
-
The high voltage battery temperature is too high or too low.
-
The motor temperature is high.
-
The hood is open.
Do not accelerate or start the vehicle suddenly when the warning message is displayed. Instead, if the high voltage battery level is too low, charge it immediately.
When the power is limited for the safety of the high-powered parts of an electric vehicle, the power down indicator light illuminates. Your kia may not be driven, or may roll back on a slope with the indicator light ON.

This warning message displays to protect the electric vehicle system when you turn the EV button POWER ON position while the high voltage battery temperature is low. The power could be limited if the high voltage battery charge level is low and the vehicle is parked outside in a low temperature for an extended period of time. Charging the battery before driving increases the battery temperature and helps increase power.

If this warning message is still displayed even when the ambient temperature is sufficiently high, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Battery overheated! Stop vehicle

This warning message displays to protect the high voltage battery and electric vehicle system when the battery temperature is too high.
Stop the vehicle and press the EV button in the OFF position to decrease the battery temperature.
If this warning message still displays even after the EV button has been in the OFF position long enough, do not drive the vehicle and have it inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Stop vehicle and check power supply

This warning message displays when a failure occurs in the 12V power supply system.
If this occurs, park the vehicle in a safe location and have it towed to the nearest authorized Kia dealer to be inspected.
Unplug vehicle to start

This message displays when you start the vehicle without unplugging the charging cable first. When this happens, you cannot shift the gear out of P (Park). Unplug the charging cable, then turn the EV button POWER ON position.
Charging Door Open

This message displays when you drive the vehicle with the charging door open. Close the charging door, then start driving.
Charging Stopped. Check the AC charger./Charging Stopped. Check the DC charger.

This warning message displays when charging stops for the following reasons:

There is a problem with the external AC or DC charger.
-
The external AC charger stopped charging.
-
The charging cable is damaged.
If this occurs, check for problems with the external AC or DC charger or the charging cable.
If the same problem occurs when you charge the vehicle with a genuine Kia portable charger or other approved external charger, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Charging interrupted. Please check the cable connection

This message displays in the following situations:

The charging connector is not correctly connected to the charging inlet.
-
You press the charging connector lock release button.
If this occurs, disconnect and reconnect the charging connector.
Check to see whether there is any problem (such as external damage, foreign substances, and so on) with the charging connector or charging inlet.
If the same problem occurs when you charge the vehicle with a replacement charging cable or genuine Kia portable charger, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Check regenerative brakes

This warning message displays when the regenerative brake system does not work properly.
If this occurs, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Check Virtual Engine Sound System

This message displays when there is a problem with the Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS).
If this occurs, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Check Active Air Flap System

This warning message displays in the following situations:

There is a malfunction with the actuator flap
-
There is a malfunction with the actuator air flap controller
-
The air flap does not open
When you fix all of the above conditions, the warning message disappears.
Refill coolant

This message displays when the coolant is low. If this warning message displays, stop driving and check the coolant level. Driving with insufficient coolant for a long time can cause serious problems with the vehicle’s electrical equipment and make normal driving impossible.
