  1. Insert master key into the passenger's front air bag ON/OFF switch.

  2. Turn the key to activate/deactivate passenger's front air bag.

    • When the child restraint is installed on the front passenger's seat.

    • When the seat is unoccupied.

Front passenger air bag ON/OFF indicator

Operating condition(s)

  • After the vehicle is running

    • The front passenger air bag ON/OFF indicator illuminates for approximately 4 seconds.

  • When the passenger's front air bag ON/OFF switch is set to the ON/OFF position

    • The Front passenger air bag ON/OFF indicator is illuminated.

Non-operating condition(s)

  • When the vehicle is running within approximately 3 minutes after the vehicle is turned off

    • The front air bag ON/OFF indicator will not appear.

CAUTION
  • If the passenger's front air bag ON/OFF switch is not working properly, the air bag warning light on the instrument panel will appear. And, the passenger's front air bag OFF indicator () will not appear (The passenger's front air bag ON indicator comes on), the SRS Control Module reactivate the passenger's front air bag and the passenger's front air bag will inflate in frontal impact crashes even if the passenger's front air bag ON/OFF switch is set to the OFF position (). In this case, have the system inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends that you visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.
NOTE

  • When the passenger's front air bag ON/OFF switch is set to the POWER ON position, the passenger's front air bag is activated and child or infant seat should not be installed on the front passenger's seat.

  • When the passenger's front air bag ON/OFF switch is set to the OFF position, the passenger's front air bag is deactivated.
