Your vehicle is equipped with dual-diagonal braking systems. This means you still have braking on two wheels even if one of the dual systems should fail.

With only one of the dual systems working, more than normal pedal travel and greater pedal pressure are required to stop the vehicle.

Also, the vehicle will not stop in as short a distance with only a portion of the brake system working.

If the brakes fail whilst you are driving, shift to a lower gear for additional braking and stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so.

• Once you set the EV button to the POWER ON or DRIVE READY position.

• When there is a malfunction with the ABS (The normal braking system will still be operational without the assistance of the anti-lock brake system).

When the warning light appears whilst driving, or does not go OFF after starting the vehicle, we recommend that you have the vehicle inspected by an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.

When the regenerative brake does not operate and the brake does not perform well. This causes the Brake Warning light (red) and Regenerative Brake Warning Light (yellow) to appear simultaneously.

If this occurs, drive safely and have your vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends to visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner. The operation of the brake pedal may be more difficult than normal and the braking distance may increase.

• This warning light informs the driver the following situations

  • LED headlamp malfunction: (if equipped)

  • Lamp malfunction

  • High Beam Assist malfunction (if equipped)

  • The Intelligent Front-Lighting System warning light appears for approximately 3 seconds and then goes off.

• Whenever there is a malfunction with Intelligent Front-Lighting System. If this occurs, drive your vehicle to the nearest safe location, and turn the vehicle off and restart the vehicle. If the warning light remains on, we recommend that you have your vehicle inspected by an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.

• When there is a malfunction with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist.

• When the EV Button is in the POWER ON or DRIVE READY position. It illuminates for about 3 seconds and then goes off.

• When Forward Attention Warning is disabled or a malfunction is detected. If the warning light remains on after the in-cabin camera has been uncovered or unblocked, we recommend to visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.

• Forward Attention Warning warns the driver to keep eyes on the road.

To warn the driver the road may be icy.

When the outside temperature on the temperature gauge is below 4 °C (40 °F), a single chime sounds, both the outside temperature gauge and icy road warning indicator blink several times, and then they remain illuminated.

You can activate or deactivate the icy road warning function from the Settings menu in the infotainment system. Select Vehicle settings > Display > Cluster > Content selection > Icy road warning .

When a door is not closed securely.

When the tailgate is not closed securely.

• When the washer fluid level in the reservoir is nearly empty.
