Good driving practices
-
Never shift from P (Park) or N (Neutral) to another gear whilst depressing the accelerator pedal.
-
Never shift to P (Park) whilst the vehicle is moving.
-
Always bring the vehicle to a complete stop before shifting to R (Reverse) or D (Drive).
-
Do not ride the brakes. This may cause overheating and reduced braking performance.
-
When driving downhill, slow down and use the regenerative braking system to help decelerate the vehicle.
-
Always apply the parking brake when parking. Do not rely solely on P (Park) to keep the vehicle from moving.
-
Use extreme caution when driving on slippery surfaces.
-
Avoid abrupt braking, accelerating, or shifting, as sudden changes in speed may cause loss of traction and vehicle control.
-
For optimal performance and efficiency, smoothly depress and release the accelerator pedal.
-
When driving uphill or downhill, always shift to D (Drive) to move forward or R (Reverse) to move backward.
-
Check the gear position on the instrument cluster before driving. Driving in a direction opposite to the selected gear may shut off the vehicle and impair braking performance, leading to a dangerous situation.
-
Always wear your seat belt. In a collision, unbelted occupants are at a significantly higher risk of serious injury or death.
-
Avoid high speeds when cornering or turning.
-
Do not make abrupt steering movements, such as sharp lane changes or fast turns. The risk of rollover increases significantly if you lose control at highway speeds.
-
Loss of control often occurs when two or more wheels drop off the roadway and the driver oversteers whilst attempting to return.
-
If your vehicle leaves the roadway, do not steer sharply. Slow down before reentering the road.
-
Never exceed posted speed limits.
-
If your vehicle is stuck in snow, mud, or sand, you may attempt to rock the vehicle free by shifting between D (Drive) and R (Reverse). Do not attempt this procedure if people or objects are near the vehicle. The vehicle may suddenly move when freed, causing injury or damage.
