While your vehicle is stopped, Safe Exit Assist may help you avoid a collision using a warning message and warning sound if it detects a vehicle approaching the rear corner of your vehicle in warning area and a passenger opens a door.

When the electronic child safety lock button is in the LOCK position and Safe Exit Assist detects a vehicle approaching from the rear in warning area, the electronic child safety lock () button will not unlock, even if you press the button to unlock the rear doors.
