- When the liftgate is open, approach the detecting area (20–40 in [50–100 cm] behind the liftgate) with the smart key in your possession. Wait approximately 3 seconds until the chime sounds.
- With the smart key in your possession, move away from the vehicle. The liftgate closes automatically with a chime sound.
