HDA operation
Displaying operating status
You can see the status of the HDA operation in the Driving Assist view on the instrument cluster. Refer to More Details.


HDA will be displayed as below depending on the status of the function.

Highway Driving Assist indicator, whether there is a vehicle ahead and the selected distance level are displayed.

HDA operating
HDA operates when:
-
When driving on available road, press Drive Assist button to turn on HDA.

When entering the main roads of highways while SCC is operating, Driving Assist will not turn on if LFA is turned off.
Restarting after stopping

When HDA is operating, your vehicle will stop if a vehicle ahead of you stops. If a vehicle ahead of you starts moving within
30 seconds after stopping, your vehicle will start as well. After a vehicle has stopped and 30 seconds have passed, the message
will appear on the instrument cluster. Depress the accelerator pedal or operate the + switch, - switch or
switch to start driving.
Hands-off warning

If you take your hands off the steering wheel for several seconds, the warning message will appear and an audible warning will sound in stages.

First stage: Warning message

Second stage: Warning message (red steering wheel) and audible warning

If you still do not have your hands on the steering wheel after the hands-off warning, the warning message will appear and Highway Driving Assist will be automatically canceled.
Driving speed limit

When HDA is canceled by the hands-off warning, The driving speed will be limited.
While Driving Speed Limit function is operating, the warning message will appear on the instrument cluster, and an audible warning will sound continuously.
HDA standby
When the SCC is temporarily canceled while HDA is operating, HDA will be in the standby state. At this time, LFA will operate properly.

Driving Speed Limit helps you drive below 40 mph (60 km/h). Your vehicle decelerates due to a vehicle ahead. After your vehicle has decelerated, it cannot automatically accelerate.

Driving Speed Limit will cancel in the following circumstances:

When you hold the steering wheel again
-
When you turn on LFA by pressing the LFA button

When (+), (-), (
) switch or the Vehicle Distance button is operated, or the accelerator pedal or the brake pedal is depressed.
