Economical and safe operation of Hybrid system

  • Drive smoothly. Accelerate at a moderate rate and maintain a steady cruising speed. Do not make jackrabbit starts. Do not race between stoplights.

  • Avoid heavy traffic whenever possible. To avoid unnecessary braking and reduce brake wear, always maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles.

  • Regenerative braking transforms kinetic energy when the vehicle slows down.

  • The hybrid system automatically recharges the hybrid battery when the battery charge level is low.

  • When the engine is running while the gear is in N (Neutral), the hybrid system cannot generate electricity or charge the hybrid battery.

NOTE

In the hybrid system, the engine automatically runs and stops. When the hybrid system operates, the READY indicator displays.

The engine might operate automatically in the following situations:

  • The engine is ready to operate.

  • The hybrid battery is charging.

  • The hybrid battery is a certain temperature.
