Emergency Stop forewarning and Deceleration Control

If a Hands-Off warning continues or the driver’s forward attention is not maintained, the system interprets this as driver unresponsiveness.

When driver unresponsiveness is detected, the system issues a forewarning through a warning message, warning sound, and steering wheel vibration.

  1. Take control of the vehicle immediately.
If the forewarning continues, steering control and deceleration control are activated to help bring the vehicle to a stop within the lane. The system indicates that Emergency Stop is in progress via a warning message, warning sound, and steering wheel vibration.

Forewarning and Emergency Stop will be canceled in the following situations:

  • The driver looks forward and holds the steering wheel to operate the vehicle

  • Smart Cruise Control is temporarily deactivated or turned off

  • Lane Following Assist is turned off
