Warning messages
The warning message may appear differently depending on the type of instrument cluster and some may not show the warning message at all. The warning message is shown in either symbol, symbol and text, or text type only.
Shift to P (for smart key system)

This warning message illuminates if you try to turn off the engine without the gear in P (Park) position.

At this time, the ENGINE START/STOP button turns to the ACC position.
Low washer fluid
This warning message is displayed if the washer fluid level in the reservoir is nearly empty.
Have the washer fluid reservoir refilled.
Check headlamp LED (if equipped)
This message is displayed if there is a problem with the LED headlamp. In this case, have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommended to visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.
Low fuel

This warning message is displayed if the fuel tank is almost out of fuel.

When this message is displayed, the low fuel level warning light in the cluster will come on.

It is recommended to look for the nearest fueling station and refuel as soon as possible.
Check 48V system (if equipped)
This warning message illuminates when there is a problem with the mild hybrid control system.
Refrain from driving when the warning message is displayed.
In this case, have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommended to visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.
Engine has overheated

This warning message illuminates when the engine coolant temperature is above 120°C (248°F). This mean that the engine is overheated and may be damaged.

Low key battery (for smart key system)

This warning message illuminates if the battery of the smart key is discharged when the ENGINE START/STOP button changes to the OFF position.
Press START button whilst turning wheel (for smart key system)
-
This warning message illuminates if the steering wheel does not unlock normally when the ENGINE START/STOP button is pressed.

It means that you should press the ENGINE START/STOP button whilst turning the steering wheel right and left.
Check steering wheel lock system (for smart key system)
-
This warning message illuminates if the steering wheel does not lock normally when the ENGINE START/STOP button changes to the OFF position.
Press clutch pedal to start engine (for smart key system and manual transmission)
-
This warning message illuminates if the ENGINE START/STOP button changes to the ACC position twice by pressing the button repeatedly without depressing the clutch pedal.
-
It means that you should depress the clutch pedal to start the engine.
Key not in vehicle (for smart key system)
-
This warning message illuminates if the smart key is not in the vehicle when you press the ENGINE START/STOP button.

It means that you should always have the smart key with you.
Key not detected (for smart key system)
-
This warning message illuminates if the smart key is not detected when you press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
Shift to P or N to start engine (for smart key system)

This warning message illuminates if you try to start the engine with the shift lever not in the P (Park) or N (Neutral) position.
Press brake pedal to start engine (for smart key system)

This warning message illuminates if the ENGINE START/STOP button changes to the ACC position twice by pressing the button repeatedly without depressing the brake pedal.

It means that you should depress the brake pedal to start the engine.
Press brake and clutch pedals to start engine (for smart key system and Intelligent Manual Transmission)

This warning message illuminates if the ENGINE START/STOP button changes to the ACC position twice by pressing the button repeatedly without depressing the brake and clutch pedals. It means that you should depress the brake and clutch pedals to start the engine.
Vehicle is in N. Press START button, shift to P and turn vehicle Off (for smart key system)
This message is displayed if you try to turn off the vehicle with the gear in N (Neutral).
To turn off the vehicle:

Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The button will change to the ON position.

Press the P button to shift to P (Park).
-
Press the ENGINE START/STOP button again, then the vehicle will turn off.
12V battery discharging due to additional electrical devices
The vehicle can detect self-discharge of the battery due to over-current that is generated by unauthorised electrical devices such as dashboard camera(dash cam) mounting during parking.
Please note that functions such as ISG are limited and battery discharge problems may occur.
If the warning continues even after external electrical devices are removed, have your vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends to contact an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.
Press START button again (for smart key system)

This warning message illuminates if you can not operate the ENGINE START/STOP button when there is a problem with the ENGINE START/STOP button system.

It means that you could start the engine by pressing the Engine Start/ Stop Button once more.

If the warning illuminates each time you press the ENGINE START/STOP button, have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends to visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.
Press START button with key (for smart key system)

This warning message illuminates if you press the ENGINE START/STOP button whilst the warning message “Key not detected” is illuminating.

At this time, the immobiliser indicator light blinks.
Check Driver Attention Warning (DAW) system (if equipped)

This warning message is displayed if there is a problem with Driver Attention Warning. In this case, have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends to visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.

Check BCW (Blind-Spot Collision Warn.) system (if equipped)

This warning message is displayed if there is a problem with Blind-Spot Collision Warning. In this case, have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends to visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.

Low engine oil
This warning message is displayed when the engine oil level should be checked.
If the warning message is displayed, check the engine oil level as soon as possible and add engine oil as required.
Slowly pour the recommended oil little by little into a funnel. (Oil refill capacity: Approximately 0.6 l ~ 1.0 l)
Use only the specified engine oil.(refer to More Details.)
Do not overfill the engine oil to ensure the oil level is not above F mark on the dipstick.

If you travel approximately 50 km after adding the engine oil, the warning message will go off.
-
Cycle the ignition from OFF to ON 3 times within 10 seconds, the warning message will go off immediately.
If the warning message is displayed continuously after adding the engine oil and travelling approximately 50 km, have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop as soon as possible. Kia recommends to visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner. Even if this warning message does not display after the engine has started, the engine oil should be checked and supplied periodically.
Check exhaust system
This message is displayed if there is a problem with the PPF or DPF system. At this time, the PPF or DPF warning light will also blink.
If this occurs, we recommend that you have the PPF or DPF system checked by an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.
PPF : Petrol Particulate Filter
DPF : Diesel Particulate Filter
Check haptic steering wheel system (if equipped)
This message is displayed if there is a problem with the haptic steering wheel system.
In this case, have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommended to visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.
Door, bonnet, tailgate open

This warning is displayed indicating which door, or the bonnet, or the tailgate is open.
Sunroof open (if equipped)

This warning is displayed if you turn off the engine when the sunroof is open.
Lights mode
-
This indicator displays which exterior light is selected using the lighting control.
You can activate or deactivate Wiper/Lights Display function from the User Settings mode in the cluster LCD display or the Settings in the Infotainment System screen.
Wiper mode
-
This indicator displays which wiper speed is selected using the wiper control.
You can activate or deactivate Wiper/Lights Display function from the User Settings mode in the cluster LCD display or the Settings in the Infotainment System screen.
Icy road warning (if equipped)
This warning is to warn the driver the road may be icy.
When the following conditions occur, the warning light (including Outside Temperature Gauge) blinks 5 times and then illuminates, and also warning chime sounds once.

The temperature on the Outside Temperature Gauge is below approximately 4°C (39°F).
If the icy road warning appears whilst driving, you should drive more attentively and safely refraining from over-speeding, rapid acceleration, sudden braking or sharp turning, etc.
