Drive mode integrated control system (if equipped)
The mode changes whenever the DRIVE MODE switch is selected, Drive Mode will change as follows: ECO → NORMAL → SPORT → ECO
When the ignition is turned on, Drive Mode is set to ECO by default. (for Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT))
-
NORMAL mode: NORMAL mode provides soft driving and comfortable riding.
-
ECO mode: ECO mode improves fuel efficiency for eco-friendly driving.
-
SPORT mode: SPORT mode provides sporty but firm riding.
Start Stop Coasting (SSC) is activated when Drive Mode is ECO. (For 48V MHEV)
The driving mode will be set to NORMAL or ECO mode when the engine is restarted.
-
If it is in NORMAL mode, NORMAL mode will be set, when the engine is restarted.
-
If it is in ECO/SPORT mode, ECO mode will be set when the engine is restarted.
When the ignition is turned on, Drive Mode is set to ECO by default. (for Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT))
ECO mode
When the Drive Mode is set to ECO mode, the engine and transmission control logic are changed to maximize fuel efficiency.
-
When ECO mode is selected by DRIVE MODE switch, the ECO indicator will illuminate.
-
If the vehicle is set to ECO mode, when the engine is turned OFF and restarted the Drive Mode setting will remain in ECO mode.
Start Stop Coasting (SSC) is deactivated When towing a trailer. But Start Stop Coasting (SSC) may be not deactivated when towing a trailer purchased from aftermarket. When towing a trailer purchased from aftermarket, it is recommended to set the Drive Mode to NORMAL or SPORT.
-
The acceleration response may be slightly reduced if the accelerator pedal is engaged moderately.
-
The shift pattern of the automatic transmission may change.
The above situations are normal conditions when ECO mode is activated to improve fuel efficiency.
If the following conditions occur whilst ECO mode is operating, the system operation is limited even though there is no change in the ECO indicator.
-
When driving the vehicle with the DCT transmission gear shift lever in sport mode, the system will be limited according to the shift location.
Start Stop Coasting (SSC) is activated when Drive Mode is ECO. (for Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT))
SPORT mode
SPORT mode manages the driving dynamics by automatically adjusting the steering effort, and the engine and transmission control logic for enhanced driver performance.
-
When SPORT mode is selected by DRIVE MODE switch, the SPORT indicator will illuminate.
-
Whenever the engine is restarted, the Drive Mode will revert back to ECO mode. If SPORT mode is desired, re-select SPORT mode from DRIVE MODE switch.
-
When the ignition is turned on, Drive Mode is set to ECO by default. (for Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT))
-
When SPORT mode is activated:
-
The engine rpm will tend to remain raised over a certain length of time even after releasing the accelerator.
-
Upshifts are delayed when accelerating.
-
In SPORT mode, the fuel efficiency may decrease.
