Engine Preheating

If the engine does not start within 10 seconds after the preheating is completed, set the ignition switch to the LOCK or OFF position for 10 seconds and then to the ON position in order to preheat the engine again.

• When the key is turned to the ON position, the 4WD indicator light will come on and then go off in a few seconds.

• The 4WD indicator light will illuminate when the transfer shift lever is set to 4H or 4L position.

• When transferring to four-wheeldrive mode, have the lever positioned at the right position (2H, 4H, or 4L). In particular, if the lever is shifted from the 4H position into the 4L position with the lever positioned between the two points, The N (Neutral) indicator light will still illuminate but the drivetrain could fail to transfer power to the front and rear wheels. The driver must be on full alert as such failure could be highly dangerous.
