Transfer lever operation

2H ↔ 4H

Shift the transfer lever from the 2H mode to 4H mode (or from the 4H mode to 2H mode) at speed below 60 km/h (37 mph) and 2,500 Engine RPM.

It is not necessary to depress the clutch pedal.

CAUTION

In extremely cold weather (below -15°C, or in case of the cold engine), when shifting the transfer lever from the 2H mode to 4H mode be sure to stop your vehicle or shift the transfer lever at low speed while driving.

2H ↔ 4L, 4H ↔ 4L

  1. Stop the vehicle.

  2. Depress the clutch pedal fully and shift the transfer lever.

CAUTION

  • If the vehicle moves while the transfer shift is in process, the gearbox may be damaged.

  • Do not over speed (above 40 km/h) in the 4L position. This may cause severe transfer damage.
